Who We Are
Cote Brilliante Presbyterian Housing Corporation (CBPHC) was incorporated in 1998 as a 501(c)(3) with a goal to make an impact in the Greater Ville community of St Louis, Mo by providing social services and housing in response to the distress caused by the deteriorating conditions of housing, increase in crime, and decline in education in north St. Louis City. There was significant progress made in the area of social services, but the ability to impact the deteriorating properties and vacancy concerns was not fully realized the entity remained dormant for five years. In 2018 the entity was reinstated with renewed efforts in collaboration with the community stakeholders, homeowners and residents. That enthusiasm and engagement was the catalyst for change. Grant funding from the city and state, contributions from individuals and philanthropic organizations, and collaborations with other non-profits and companies allowed us to extend social services and community support through an extended hours after-school program, provide food distribution, and rental and utility assistance during the pandemic, offer financial literacy workshops, technology training programs, and gardening experience for children and adults. In 2024 community support was instrumental in the achievement of being awarded a grant to rehab a vacant apartment building in the Kings Way East community of the Greater Ville which has averted another vacant lot and an opportunity to provide housing for low-to-moderate income residents as well as dedicated office space for the non-profit to continue collaboration with the community.
Collectively we are making a difference
